Reptiles
Reptiles are cold-blooded vertebrate that includes snakes,
lizards, crocodiles, turtles and tortoises. They’re distinguished by having dry,
scaly skin and typically laying soft shelled eggs on land. Reptiles mostly
spend their time on land, but some spend a lot of time in the water. Reptiles
can be found in all types of habitats other than tundra and polar ice. Reptiles
are ectothermic animals, they cannot regulate their own body heat, so they depend
on the sun for warmth. All reptiles are covered in scales. The salt water
crocodile is the largest reptile, being 13-18ft long. The smallest reptile is a
chameleon, being less that 30mm long. Check out some cool reptiles below.
